How I Got an Essay For Myself at the University of Florida

How I Got an Essay For Myself at the University of FloridaMy family has lived in Florida for about twenty years now, and it has been a bit of a struggle to get me to write an essay for myself. I think one of the reasons is that the Florida state motto, 'In God We Trust,' is ingrained into our culture; it is like the anchor for our foundation, so to speak. That's where we live; in Florida, we have different words for different things. If you asked someone in Maine what the title of the book in the family was, they would probably tell you the Uncle Bob's story about a guy who bought a book at the local store and found that the same name was used in the author's signature. The name wasn't offensive, but it was a bit confusing to my younger brother, who had never heard of the town or the social structure in the series of houses. By the time he was older, though, he knew that he could not use the book's title as a source of knowledge about the book; he had to get his knowledge through other sources. As a young man, I always had an intellectual curiosity about everything. Sometimes that led me down a path that resulted in me studying something for longer than my required school time. Other times, it led me right into the lion's den of a college, where it was rather intimidating to be required to write an essay for myself on a topic I was unfamiliar with.Fortunately, however, I had always known that I would need to write a personal essay to get into college, which meant that I would need to learn how to write the paper from scratch. Because of this, I found that my family had an important role to play in getting me to understand this process, since my family is also used to writing essays for themselves and my brother. In addition to knowing how to write a personal essay, my family has always taken me to a library and made me sit down at a desk and write an essay. This sometimes proved to be quite difficult for me because I did not feel as if I was capable of sitting down and writing something. At that point, my family took matters into their own hands, and they explained to me that I could just borrow a little essay book from the library and that the next time I was in the library, I could actually sit down and read the book instead of just borrow it.Now, instead of being required to write an essay for myself, I can just go into the library and borrow a word processor to use. This way, I am not expected to understand grammar and punctuation, or be able to write a cohesive essay, and the next time I come into the library, I can just read the book and use the book as a source of information. I'm still not as good a writer as some of my older brothers, but I do have my mother's help.Whatever essay you decide to write for yourself, always remember that your family can help you along the way. Whether you borrow a book from the library or spend a weekend with your family at the library, you are always better off than if you were forced to write for yours elf. Make your family a part of the process by allowing them to help you.
